A little about me

Bio/About Me

Savannah L.

  Hi,

My name is Savannah, and I love all animals, but dogs have always held a special place in my heart. My journey with dogs began at a very young age when I was just 5 years old. That's when my family started breeding and showing dogs. Since then, I've had the pleasure of showing and grooming terrier group dogs, which has been an enriching experience.

At 16 years old, I landed my first job as a Kennel attendant. Working alongside Tim Cruser, who trained most of the Douglas County K9 Unit, was an invaluable experience that taught me a lot about dog behavior and the importance of patience. When I turned 20, I transitioned to become a bather, and it was then that my love for canines deepened even further. Getting to interact with dogs on a daily basis allowed me to learn about their quirky personalities, observe their unique movements, and appreciate the diverse range of breeds.

After spending two years in cosmetology school, I realized that it wasn't human hair I was passionate about styling, but rather dogs. At 24, I accepted a position at Dogtopia as a day care attendant, with the intention of eventually pursuing my grooming dreams. It was at Dogtopia that I crossed paths with Jenn, who has been an incredible mentor to me. Her guidance and expertise have played a significant role in shaping my journey in the world of dog grooming. I have a deep desire to learn the art of dog grooming, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so at Heavenly Dog. I believe that Heavenly Dog provides the perfect environment to offer a positive experience for dogs during their salon visits. My goal is to ensure that every dog feels comfortable and builds a great relationship with coming to the salon. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends soon!
